The first waterproof junction box designed for outdoor electrical installations was introduced and affectionately nicknamed the “Butter Box” by customers due to its distinctive appearance. This model remains in production to this day.

The AK brand identity was unveiled at the IAMA Auto and Motorcycle Show in Berlin.

At the 19th International Motor Show (IAA) in Cologne, which for the first time was exclusively dedicated to commercial vehicles, exhibits included low-beam headlight switches, dual-function foot-operated light switches, signal lamp buttons, and windshield wipers.

Apparatebau Kirchheim-Teck GmbH was founded. The company specializes in the manufacture of electrical switches, pushbuttons, sockets, fuse boxes, terminal blocks, and other components for automotive lighting.
